Recently an existing client found themselves in a situation where their current guest room energy management solution was at end of life and spares were no longer available.
We asssesed the situation and found that it was inline with our desire to extend our range of sustainability solutions. Thus, the HRC A6 was born.
The site had some tricky challenges. Firstly, the thermostat had to be powered through only an existing cat6 cable. The relay controller had to then mimic functionality of thermostat to control valve actions and fan coil modes.
We built a prototype in just 2 weeks and commissioned a pilot unit, complete with PMS integration in just 4 weeks. Occupancy sensor logic was combined via a PIR and perimeter sensors creating a soultion that saves energy when doors are opened by cutting off the AC function, and goes into a set back mode when the room is not rented.
MQTT protocols and microcontroller software further means that central monitoring is availble. Doors and PIR sensor details, user set point, room temperature and humidity are all tracked in a responsive display.
Client is so happy that all 300 other rooms will now be updated with the new unit.
